For over 15 years, The Arc has provided gifts, toys, and food support for kids with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their siblings. The Arc’s Holiday Giving program is unique in allowing families to request specific items, wrapping paper, and accessories, as well as providing a $100 grocery gift card for families to put together a holiday meal.
Since the start of the pandemic, Holiday Giving has doubled annually in the number of families seeking support. In the fall, we anticipated serving 250 kids. With significant support from the community, we are pleased to share that the 2022 Holiday Giving Program supported 394 kids throughout nine counties in Maryland.
This program is only possible because of the generous support of our community. We thank the 66 individuals and businesses who adopted and shopped for the kids, the 25 private donors who raised over $22,000 to ensure we were able to support everyone who applied, and our corporate sponsor – M&T Bank, for contributing $15,000, and nearly 30 volunteers to make the program successful.
