Family Support Services
We believe that children, regardless of their disabilities, belong with their families and should be able to play and socialize with children in their communities. Our goal is to provide high quality, individualized, residential services to children with intense medical needs.
We encourage family support groups such as the Down Syndrome Connection and The Bowen Foundation. These types of groups encourage and empower families of children and adults with similar developmental disabilities. They are also available as a knowledgeable shoulder to lean on for parents of newborns with disabilities.
Most importantly, we provide crisis intervention services, assisting families who can’t afford their child’s medication, heat their homes or pay rent due to the exorbitant medical costs for their child’s treatment.
“My daughter had over 100 seizures a day. We tried to pay for her care by ourselves, but soon our aavings and investments were gone. We were desperate; making decisions like should we purchase groceries or medicine that week. We even almost lost our home.
“The Arc stepped in and not only helped us pay for the important medicine my child needed, but taught us how to use the services our county provides. The caring individuals there helped us keep our house. Now, my daughter only has 2 – 3 seizures a day.
We can’t thank them enough for their help.”
