Welcome to The Arc of the Central Chesapeake Region’s New Parent section! If you, your child, or someone you know has been diagnosed with an intellectual or developmental disability, you have come to the right place!
If this is a new diagnosis for your child, you are probably feeling a flood of emotions. The first thing you need to know is that you are not alone. What you are feeling is normal, and we are here to talk, listen and give you a shoulder to lean on. Please call with even the smallest question – we have all probably asked that same question when we were new!
